I used to live in this town. I used to bragg to my wife about how good the food was there. Finally i convinced my wife to stop in with me for a try. It has been about 10 years since i have even been there. The menu was a little misleading about the sirloin steak. When our food came out, it was just a hamburger steak. Then glen (the chef) told me that they grind the trimmings into "this staek" and that is a ground sirloin steak. Rather than keep a customer happy "chef glenn" was very argumentative rather than offer us something else from the menu to keep us "happy. Well at this point i had enough, offered to pay for our drinks and as we were leaving he pursued me trying to have the last word in this dispute rather than cool the situation in front of other customers. Mr. bell you need to get Glenn some customer relation eticasy lessons because he hurt this customer's feelings, whom by the way went to high school with you. Unfortunately I am ashamed that the image i gave your establishment was ruined for my wife. The mexican restaraunt was a good second choice though.

I've eaten at bells...: I've eaten at bells before and since I new the staff it was a fairly good experience. This place isn't a fancy harp playing five fork establishment. Its more of a down to earth home town place where you can bring your family in. Warning: if you don't like fried stuff then don't get anything fried. Everything does tend to taste like the rest. At any given moment you could mistake a fry for a shrimp. Instead try the pork or beef which is pretty good. On a good night you'll never want to leave on a bad night..

I haven't been to Bell's in several years, but my family and I went on a recommendation from a friend (not a sophisticated friend, as it turned out). We went for their Friday night seafood "feast". It was, quite honestly, the worst meal I have ever eaten in my life. We still laugh about it. What I remember is that nearly everything was fried, and therefore everything tasted like everything else. Fried clam strips, fried shrimp, fried fish bits, french fries... no flavor, no ingenuity. I got a few boiled shrimp for some variety and the poor shrimp had been boiled so long that it completely disintegrated in my mouth into a million mealy pieces. I had to spit it out. Then, I tried some sort of deviled crab stuffed back into the crab's shell. All filler, no meat, and most of the crab bodies still had at least one eyeball hanging by a thread. Not appetizing. The place smelled sour, the staff was disinterested if not surly, and the experience was disgusting. My parents lived long enough in that corner of Florida for me to try all of the various dining options the area had to offer, and while I never expected a sophisticated dining experience, I usually had decent meals served by decent people, in a decent atmosphere. This was not only a terrible disappointment, but the barometer by which all of my other awful meals will be judged. To date, I have never eaten a worse meal.
