I love barbecue. I was in Apopka and I thought I'd give Porkies a try. My dining partner and I thought we would try their smoked rib eye and an order of their spare ribs. The ribs were OK; tender, but on the dry side, certainly not the perfect, succulent, rib one seeks. The rib eye was cooked to perfection, but so salty I had to wipe the excess seasoning off with my garlic toast. The smoke flavoring was apparent, but didn't add much to the steak IMHO. The sides were the dirty potatoes, collard greens and french fries. We both liked the collards. They were even better with a little of the pepper vinegar seasoning. The dirty potatoes were, pretty much flavorless. They could have used some more seasoning (perhaps, from my steak?). We both had unsweetened tea to drink. It was the highlight of the meal; freshly brewed, no weird flavorings or strange additives. Overall, the meal was good, not great, hence 3 stars not 5.

This is the best BBQ I've eaten in Central Florida. I recommend the "Pig Dipper" which is basically a french-dip style sandwich but you've got to sample all the sauces at the table too.
