I was not aware of the Gilchrist Club until I was surveying some timberland in the area. My coworkers and I were treated with Southern hospitality, and found all the land management folks in particular to be helpful and committed to maintaining a beautiful natural landscape. Very abundant bird population.

Marty is an excellent manager at the Giilchrist Club. He does his job and does it well. Anyone who says different must be an exemployee fired for inadequate performance. As far as having a beer after work, who wouldn't after an 18 hour day.

The Gilchrist Club is an exclusive, private hunting and sporting club set in the heart of Florida’s timberland. Gilchrist Club offers members, their families and guests premier hunting, fishing and recreational opportunities on 27,000+ acres of diverse woodlands, complemented by luxurious accommodations and impeccable service.

The Gilchrist Club management treats employee's with no respect nor the wildlife and the wildlife manager Marty drinks beer during working hours everyday of the week. It is not a good place to work because of the management which is a shame because the place is beautiful and has an abundance of game species. Also Marty will trap and shoot the wild hogs and just leave them in the woods to rot and now there are very few of them left there which is odd because the hog hunting is the only real hunting you can do there in summer.

yea i know about marty all to well as a former employee i was constantly belittled and cursed.i was made to drive a tractor for months on end bouncing over the rough ground and when i finally stood up to him he got me fired. i would not recommend this place to anyone the birds are released prior to your hunt and are keptin pens beside the kennels. the dogs are not kept up at all and if mr meehan and some of the other "big wigs" knew half of what went on out there they would fire him. as far as drinking on the job, yes he does and drinks and drives in a company vehicle. hawgwild 352

Driving a tractor; omygosh! Over rough terrain no less; how devastating that had to be for you. Good thing you left before your skirt got caught up in the power take off. Birds are released prior to the hunt? It guess it would be a little more sporty if they were released after the hunt, but I'll bet we'd likely go home just about empty handed. Drinking on the job is (burrrrrp) intolerable.
