Buttercup Bakery

Truth be told Deland needs a sweet little place like this but the prices are really too high. I live in Manhattan and visited my family that have moved to the area recently and was surprised to see a cupcake, small and unimpressive (the kinds made from a box mix)priced at $2.95. Come on! The Magnolia Bakery in my opinion has the right to charge $3 because of their overhead and their overall quality and flavor. Given these economic times I realize making ends meet is tough but if you expect to charge NY prices give your customers a break in price and something impressive so that they keep coming back. My comments are solely meant to help because I think this place has tremendous potential for Wedding showers, Birthday parties, High Tea and/or a Girls hang.

good/bad: extremely GOOD food but very expencive. for ex. one cupcake is about $2.

At 56 I find myself addicted!!: I made it through the 60's and NOW find myself totally addicted to this place. These three girls/owners have apparently spent their young lives dedicated to creating joy for the world. Their pasta salad really rocks, as well and everything else I have bought there. Truly quality, large portioned products for a reasonable price. Their atmosphere is equal to their pastries.
