User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsPretty good food considering this is one of only 2 Japanese steak houses in the Mt. Dora/Eustis area. Kiku is the other one, which isn't very good. I have eaten here several times, I usually get it to go though. I wish they would put more teriyaki sauce (or whatever the brown sauce is) on their rice and noodles.

I haven't been to Lampu in about 3 months, and have no plans on returning. This restaurant used to be known for quality food, cleanliness, and service, but the last 3 times I was there I couldn't even finish my meal it was so bad. It even got to the point that the last time I was there, the young server(who I assumed was supposed to be ours, since no one else helped us) sat down next to us with her boyfriend and ordered dinner for themselves instead of serving us. When she got up to go to the bathroom, her boyfriend decided to tell us(without us asking him by the way) some very dirty habits about the restaurant that I won't bother to go into. This was right in the middle of our meal and has permanently ingrained bad thoughts in my head about Lampu. Fortunately, there is a new Japanese Steakhouse in Mt. Dora called Kiku on Highland street, which has actually been started by the original owner of Lampu, back in it's glory days. I will be dining there from now on, and I suggest that you do it too.

We have done a lot to fix up the restaurant in the past couple months as well as hiring on all well experienced chefs. I assure that are sushi is fresh and well maintained and would love for you to give us a try again.
