American Modern Jewelry and the BEAD Lounge

The Bead Lounge has a GREAT selection of beads to choose from and we left with some stunning jewelry. HOWEVER...we scheduled a girls' night out a few weeks in advance and were left with the impression that it would be just our group of gals. We got there and it was us and another group of ladies we didn't know. Which would have been fine but when I made the reservation, I was told if our number of ladies came close to 10 to let them know because an extra employee would be needed to help out. We get there and there were well over 10 of us between the two groups and one only worker present. And again, we didn't know we were having company!

Secondly, the owner was very, very rude to us and unhelpful. And we all came to the same conclusion on our own in BOTH groups of women. And we were constantly told that the jewelry we were picking out to make could not be done that evening because there wasn't time for the ONE person working to make it. Translation, get someone else to work the party too since we had too many people for just one store employee. When we would ask a question on how to design things we were curtly answered and very little to no help was offered to help us design the simplest of things. Consequently when we'd pick out things that turned out to be too complicated (time-wise) for the one employee to do, we were also treated rudely. At one point, I was told by the owner she "wished some of us knew what we were doing" so we could help her make the jewelry. Uhhh not what we're paying for!

Bottom line: great jewelry, HORRIBLE customer service. If you are a novice and need extra TLC, go somewhere else!

The Bead Lounge: Great store! I read about them in Bead Unique Magazine which gave a glowing review, then I saw they were right here in Orlando. It’s the nicest bead shop I have ever been in and very comfortable plus the staff are quite helpful and sincere. The selection of beads is large and consists of various stone strands, silver, crystal, and several large tables of just loose beads with many items I have never seen before. I thought they had really good deals on glass and stone beads but I also thought the clasps were very reasonably priced. When they told me they have been there for 6 years I was shocked and sorry that I hadn’t found them sooner. If you like Beads you should go as soon as possible, I only found them last week and I’ve already been in three times.
