| About: | Some restaurants just look like fun, and this is one of them. Management serves up slow-cooked beef in a dining area festooned with tiny white Christmas lights. Part of a beat-up camper is mounted over the bar itself and scenes depicting the life of Elvis Presley have been carved into the bathroom walls. While you're enjoying the kitsch, dine on a Pork Platter, a jambalaya special and add a side order of collard greens. |

I used to really like BBQ when I lived in Orlando. I went there about 3 weeks ago and had a really awful experience completely due to the female bartender she was very rude and blatantly ignored me and my girlfriend (I'm in the service industry.. I know when I'm being snubbed) and then overcharged when we asked someone else to get service for us (she approached him immediately). I would say it's a cool place just avoid the girl at the front bar.
It's Awesome But Where's the Restaurant?: "Restaurant"? There is no food served in the BBQ Bar in downtown Orlando. The only 'things' served are beer and mixed drinks. The only things 'served' on the patio bar are beer and mixed drinks and cheesy hip hop songs played by the DJ. The only 'things' served in Spy Bar are beer and mixed drinks. If you want food, you have to go around the corner to Planet Pizza (yes, the guy that runs it is really from the Bronx) or across the street to Aaron's vegan hot dog stand. There is a big giant fish mounted on the wall but it has a light bulb in it and its not being served for breakfast lunch or dinner anytime soon. Just about the entire staff is still the same except Brad (no one knows whether he lives in Orlando or Athens, GA-just when we get used to him tending bar here he's gone back to Athens. After we get used to the idea Brad has moved to Athens, he's back tending bar in the BBQ Bar). The Christmas tree lights are still everywhere, the same people are still there and it is a great place to go to before or after going to the Independent Bar next door. Oh yeah, a bunch of the people that work here also work at a new place on Pine Street called The Matador-walk inside and you'll find everyone who works/drinks at the BBQ Bar (it is next door to the AKA Lounge).
Laid Back Low Key and Cool: Bar-B-Q Bar is one of my fav. Orlando Bar. It looks like a hole in the wall but the people are real, eclectic and the bartenders are nothing less than top notch. Bar-B-Q Rocks everydays of the week. Not to mention the jukebox plays the best music in town.

LOL!!! I know who you are talking about...but she's actually very cool when you see her a few more times. I once thought of her the same way. Anyway, never went there for food...just the drinks and photo booths. hahahah
