I just moved in with my 81-year old mother to care for her. Her house is one block from the Engelwood schools, on the same street. While walking my dog in the neighorbood, I have seen several hypodermic needles laying near or on the sidewalk. My neighbor has found one, also. I refuse to touch them. However, I am EXTREMELY concerned about the children who walk to school this way. A child may pick up one of these needles and injur themself and who knows what kind of diseases these needles may carry. I contacted Engelwood Elementary School and was told that they cannot do anything about it, since the needles are not on school property??? If anyone cares and wants to offer me a suggestion on how to handle this to protect the children who attend Engelwood Elementary and Middle School please respond.
This school is a Joke my daughter went here for half of second grade and half of third. When we moved back to Michigan she was well behind ANY thing that was taught and to be quite frank she did not like it.Luckily for us fourth grade is a catch up year for Michigan and she can get caught up but I do not like Englewood at all.
Lack of Supervision: My son got injured in cafeteria by another student and had to take him to the hospital he got a concussion and the school is just blowing me off!And doesn't not want to do anything about it and do nothing to the other student.
