we visited this restaurant last week, it was around 12:15 so perfect time for lunch time. I noticed our waiter was bz serving white people. excellent service was given to white and no service given to indian. looks like they have policy only 1 waiter per line. even if we want waiter we have to ask the waiter assigned to you. waiters were partial. I have never seen something like this.
about food, rice was burnt (from last nite) you can actually feel its from last nite. chicken was okay. all over average food, poor service and partial waiters. I would not suggest this restaurnt ever.
I stopped in to eat last night around 9:15pm. When we were pointed to a table rather than shown. Our server ( a very slender male) was visibly upset that we showed up at 9pm when they closed at 10pm. He came back literraly 4minutes after we sat down and asked if we were ready to order. I said we were not to give us a couple of minutes. He then said that the kitchen was closing soon. I was a bit insulted that he would try to rush us when we obviously had enough time.
I went to the restroom and when i came back my Fiance said that our server jsut took the Chutney from a table he just cleaned off and brought it to our table. When our server came back i asked him about it and he admitted it. There was barely any Chutney left and it was crusted around the rim and picked through. He said that after 6pm all tables share chutney. I replied, so if another table asked for my chutney you would just take it to them? He replied yes. I told him that has to be against some sort of healt code. He said its how they do it as he stuttered his way through words. I asked for the manager of the restaurant he brought him over and said something in Hindi to him i asked the manager the same question and he said no that's not true. He started trying to explaen (again stuttering his way through it) i called the server over and asked him to please explain to his manager what he explained to us. He looked at me like he all of the sudden didn't understand me. His manager jumped in and basically waved us out of the Restaurant. I have never been treated so rudely or embarassed/insulted as i was last night. The lack of apology and sincerity i recieved from both the manager and server screamed out that this is not the first time this restaurant and staff has done that. I caution all who choose to eat at Memories of India. You may be eating other patrons left overs.
This was my second visit to this place, my first was a disaster.
I ordered the Vindaloo Hot with a samoosa and the ice cream. It was very generic but enjoyable the pickled onions were a bit of a surprise. But overall it was just ok. my collegues did say their meals were not the normal ones they ave had there. I would recommend trying some of the curry shops on I drive
