Happy Valentine's Day!
We went to JJ Whispers last night. We were forced to remain in the front holding area while the NBA shootoff played on. Thank God I like B ball, but some of the other women looked unhappy while the men tossed back drinks and slapped each other's shoulders.
The dance floor was not open until 11:30pm, which means that we were there for 2 hours. Yes...we waited because I had not been there for a while and I was curious. Well, this little black cat has learned her lesson....
The DJs were hyped and ready to spin, but the crowd...well let's just say that I have NEVER been among young people that acted SO OLD!!!! LOL This group of old cronies stood around and HATED on each other and judged each other's outfits and gathered in large same-sex groups on the dance floor..no...not to dance...but to further watch the few people who were dancing so that they could poke fun and laugh at them. It was hopeless and VERY UNCOOL.
JJ Whispers needs to raise the age limit AND reinstate the dress code. In the meantime, I guess it's back to Bob Marley's for those of us who come out to dance and have a good time.
Orlando, I missed you while I was in Germany, but I guess things have changed too much for me...I'm out :( (I can't believed I bragged about this spot)
I enjoy JJ's on Thursday nights. They have upgraded the decor and it now has a beautiful lounge area with a bar and different sound system. The dance floor is still the same but they upgraded the VIP and bar area. On Thursdays the crowd is nice, well educated people coming off of work who know how to act. The bouncer and bartenders are cool as well. Dont expect to be treated like a celebrity for $40, lol. This is Orlando we are talking about. A couple hundred will get you a good bottle and a nice VIP spot.
JJ's is ok it was my goto spot on Saturday's Thursday it gets a bit Ghetto so I dont enjoy Thursday nights at all

I totally agree. Me and my fiance just moved here in August and have been looking for an upscale club to go to. I read reviews that this was an upscale 25+ type of environment. However, when we went it was anything but what I expected. The host and hostess at the door were dressed really nice and gave me the impression the environment would be the same, but it wasn't. There was smoking everywhere, the music was more rap than a mixture of R&B and music that you can really dance to. There wasnt alot of people on the dance floor, and some of the ones that were appeared to be dancing wildly and into others on purpose. I love to dance pretty much the whole time when I'm out at a club. But I was only on the dance floor for about 30 minutes before I was ready to leave. I agree that the age limit needs to be increased, b/c the crowd looked more like 18+, and a dress code needs to be instated.
