This was truly one of the best dining experiences I have had in a while and it was quite a find. Yes the sashimi was great, but the menu is so much more.
The sushi menu is rich and deep, but even if you think raw fish is bait ... the grill items were fantastic. BTW the portions aren’t artistic they could please Nero Wolfe. Often you see menus like this, with so many choices that sound so good ... you think, now way can they make all this variety well ... they can! They had a dish called Crab Crusted Mahi-Mahi ... wow! If you don’t believe me, their menu is online at their website.
I can't say it will be there when you go but they had a green tea ice cream tempura the night I was there ... it was like an Iron Chef dish ... you hear the name, you think ... could that really be good ... and then you see the face of the person eating it and think I want to try it ... the difference is at Haru, you are the one with that face savoring a unique experience.

Fancy place, nice food presentation. Uses only real crab and not imitation crab, which I prefer imitation. The tempura shrimp in the dragon roll was way over cooked. The shrimp was dark brown and very crunchy and not golden and flaky. And WAY too expensive. Payed $66 between my wife and I. Got the same amount for cheaper at Siam Orchid.

Priced me out: I've dined here numerous times over the last few years and have always been happy with the quality of the food and the service. It has always been a bit pricey but never had a bad meal. I will sometimes order take out and order the exact same thing each time. I was very surprised and disappointed to learn that my order had been increased by $7.00. An increase of over 30%. Needless to say I am now looking for another Japanese restaurant. Pricey is one thing. Gouging is another.
