I have had limited experience at Action, some very good, some not so good. The first time I went there, I found the staff a little off-putting. I found a friendlier gun store. The next time I went to Action, they were a little more friendly, but the third time I went with a friend to use the range. We were told we'd have to buy their ammo as well as pay the usual range fee. We thanked them and left. I went there several months later, looking for a Kimber Ultra CDP II. They had one and I was able to negotiate a fair trade. This transaction was smooth and very professional. The sales associate was friendly and very knowledgable. One the other hand, a customer using the range came out and said the range was sweltering. That transaction made me reevaluate my opinion of Action. I'll probably go back there when shopping for a gun, but I'll continue to go to the Police Hall of Fame range to shoot., It's roomy, air conditioned and extremely well run. Action would do well to move their entire operation into a larger facility and hire a fulltime range master.
I have had a good experience at both of their store and would shop there anytime. They had good prices and good products. I have bought many guns over the years and was pleased with their service.
As far as buying guns from someone in the store. It was not illegal but not a good thing to do. I have a friend who owns a store outside Ft. Bragg. His prices are comparable and he make about 4% profit after all is paid.
So before you try to chop their legs out from under them, open a store, get a ffl, pay lights, rent, taxes, overhead and pay the other overhead.
I have bought a few guns from them and traded one in. I had a bad pizza once Gene but I think if you go back and give them the opportunity to overcome your displeasure you will find that they are the best retail gun store in the area. I drive from Osceola to buy from them. I love that store and their people and if you go back and spend some time and money you will be very satisfied and you will write a glowing review, Sit back Gene take a moment and smile. Good Luck.
