    Don't judge a book by it's cover... This establishment LOOKS warm and inviting but the truth is that the employees act like you are interrupting their 'busy' schedule of smoking, chatting on the phone and with each other. I heard things I didn't need to know about them and their private lives- I guess that was included with the cost of the coffee.

    They like groups to come, it increases profits, makes the place look busy and adds to the atmosphere. (I have been there as part of 3 different groups in the last 4 years.) My experience has been that they were even more rude and obnoxious than usual starting at about 15 minutes before closing.

    I spoke with a "manager" and the answer was indifference. I wrote to the owner and never received a response. If you are looking for fake atmosphere- this is the place to be! If you value common courtesy and good customer service avoid this place at all costs!

    I've been a patron at this coffee shop for over 5 years. It's the best bean in town and the friendliest baristas I interact with. I travel constantly around the country and this shop has not only the right mix of coffee, food, and atmosphere, but the owner and staff are interactive and pay attention to the customers on a one on one basis.

    One thing that I think most people realize once they come to the shop is the positive attitude of not only the staff but the patrons.

    I extremely disagree with the previous comment. I have been coming to House of Joe for three years and think that there have been many improvements made in the last year. Their coffee is by far the best in town and the staff is always friendly when I'm there. My drink has never been made wrong and I find the place to be clean. I would definitely recommend House of Joe over the other coffee shops in the area.
