The lighthouse location offers diners a water view at the a la carte restaurant upstairs, or you can opt for the all-you-can-eat seafood buffet downstairs where more than 100 items crowd the groaning boards. Steamed shrimp, grilled grouper, dolphin, snapper, Oriental stir-fry, the list goes on and satisfyingly on. User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsSTOP HERE. Seriously if you want to taste the keys here it is. All you can eat all fresh catch of all the local fish. Mahi mahi, grouper, snapper, crabs, key lime pie you name it. 30 bucks a person, but hey your probably on vacation.
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI really like the food. They have a wide selection of seafood. They have everything from crab legs, shrimp and even salads. They have also things kids may like. They staff is very nice and the view is nice aswell. The food looks well made. I don't understand why people seem to dislike this place. I think that the price is more than fair. Is all you can eat seafod, how can anyone go wrong with that?
User Rating: 2 out of 5 starsDon't waste your money - very expensive - you can get the same food at the Golden Corral for 1/2 the price. At $28.95 plus the cost of your drink and it is a buffet - they still expect a 15 to 20% tip. We were not overly impressed with the food - and did not leave a very large tip. Rick expressed his dislike at my low tip and even returned to the table to tell me so again. Very rude. I have been to restaurants before, where we chose the buffet and have never been requested to leave a tip. If the person helping is exceptional, I may choose to leave them a couple of bucks, but at 28.95 + 2.25 + tax, I feel my tip should have been covered in the cost. These charges were times 4 people. My recommendation is the Wreck Galley and Grill in Marathon - we ate there twice and were totally impressed both times.

Wow, I cannot believe this comment, I am a Florida Native, I have been vacationing in the keys my entire life and I have been visiting the Whale Harbour buffett for 20 years. Although the prices have of course gone up in that time, the food, quality and service has not gone down. Where the heck can you get all this fresh seafood for this price. Golden Corral? COme on Wisconsin Native not on your life. Just the atmosphere is worth the money. Golden Corral is no comparison. I hate going there just because it makes me feel like I am having dinner at a retirement home. And as far as tipping, yes you do walk up to serve yourself,but the servers that you refused to tip bring you your drinks, sides, utensil and assist you in every way possible to make your dinning experience pleasant. Just because they did not carry your dish to you at the table "because you chose to eat buffett" does not mean that they should not be rewarded. You sound like cheap retired snow birds to me. To all you other folks, Try this buffett you will love it. The upstairs restaurant is outrageous also, I little more on the expensive side but well worth it. Their Steak & Lobster is to die for.
