| About: | Christine Wan's is a longstanding neighborhood favorite for tasty Chinese food at reasonable prices. Serving up Mandarin, Szechuan, and Cantonese favorites, the restaurant's outstanding feature is an extensive menu of relatively healthy vegetarian options. For those who prefer to avoid the heavier stuff, this is an excellent alternative. The menu is almost overwhelming in its variety, but there are a few items that stand out. If you are a meat eater, try the Ginger Duck or the Orange Beef. Noodle dishes are delicious as well. The restaurant is not fancy, but it is comfortable and well suited to its location in central Hollywood. |

My children eat here all the time and happy to say its the best I have eaten since m oving from New York, I would certainly reccomend this restaurant to anyone who is loooking for a wonderful atmosphere and great food. I am going back there again for my birthday and you know what maybe I will see you there.
My sister is a Vegan and we visit Helen Huang's Mandarin House all the time!! They have several selections for her to select from and the food is AWESOME!! The Orange Tofu is the best I've ever had!! The wait staff are all very nice and we sometimes love to sit outside with our two little dogs and enjoy our meal! You will love coming to Helen's!!! It's Excellent Food and great staff!!
Bad Atmosphere, Bad Attitude, Average Food: During a vacation from New York, we drove for an hour from Palm Beach Shore to this restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. The seating was horrible. Nobody wanted to sit in the large center area because it was so dark. Only few seatings on the side were slightly brighter but soon we found out the space between table and seat was so tight that we couldn't barely move or breath. We required a table switch. The old waiter/or manager wasn't too happy about it. We waited 10 minutes for the menu and finally got our food ordered and later served. At the end we paid the bill and asked the old waiter to pack our food. He was very unhappy. When he returned to hand me the bagged food, he gave me a terrible look of his face. I said 'thank you', he turned away. I will not recommend any of my friends to go to this place because nobody will enjoy their meal with the attitude given by any of the restaurant staff. Later we saw a photo of the restaurant's owner -- Mr.&Mrs Wan in our hotel's guest info. magazine. The old waiter just looked exectly like Mr. Wan.

This is an awesome restaurant and maybe something was wrong that night we all have bad times. I certainly loved the place and my children go there all the time for both eat in and take out. Sorry your experience was bad but i am sure the food was good, was it not? I would give it a second chance as I do everything in life. Well just thought I would respond, have a good week
