User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI have owned Goldmans for over 11 years and am responding to the posting dated September 28, 2009. In all my years, I have never encountered anyone like the person who wrote that review. The person who wrote that review arrived at our restaurant and immediately began cursing loudly, in a voice that other customers could plainly hear. Our waitress, one of the nicest persons you can imagine, told me the customer was cursing and causing a problem. I told the waitress to remove from the bill whatever the customer did not like. At that point, we just wanted her to leave as soon as possible, because she was bothering everyone else. After the abusive customer left, my waitress was so visibily shaken by the abuse, that I felt the need to speak with the customer. When I approached her outside of the restaurant, the abusive customer launched a stream of obscenities at me. I told her to please never come back to Goldmans. When I returned to the restaurant, several customers told me how upset they were by the abusive customer. I assured them she would never be allowed back. Key West is a great place to visit. And its an even better place to live. Those of us lucky enough to own a restaurant here in Key West really appreciate the locals, who who keep us all in business. Thankfully, people like that abusive customer, are extremely rare in our great town.

The food at Goldman's Deli is consistently good. When you live in Key West and you get used to the prices and the "tourist" food that is put out by so many restaurants, you soon find the locals spots (and cherish) them for catering to locals year round and keeping food, prices and service consistent. I, like many locals, eat here all the time. Food is always fresh (obviously home made), service is quick - bill is small. The best Greek Salad in town, awesome Rueben - nice atmosphere and family friendly. Thumbs up all the way.

Order a corned beef sandwich in any Deli and expect fresh corned beef piled high..NOT WHAT YOU GET AT GOLDMAN'S. I was served two reheated rubbery slices of corned beef and was told thats how we always serve it. Now I am a local been eating there for years.NEVER HAVE I HAD SUCH A HORRIBLE MEAL
The potato latkes(pancakes) were a pile of undercooked shredded potatoes.
When I said something to the waitress the manager yelled from across the room, take it off their bill..NEVER DID HE COME OVER TO TRY AND RECTIFY THE SITUATION.
AS I LOCAL I WOULD NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN AND WILL RECOMMEND ALL LOCALS BOYCOTT THIS ESTABLISHMENT, WHICH OBVIOUSLY HAS NOT ONLY GONE DOWN HILL BUT REACHED THE BOTTOM...

Yeez you must really be having a bad day when you want to "boycott" a reputable establishment that locals LOVE, with consistently good food and service at great price (a rare quality in Key West), over one bad sandwich experience. The food their is home made and almost always outstanding and the service is good, the reason they are busy year round and locals love to eat there. You had one bad sandwich - it happens - everyone has off days. Truly, I encourage everyone who eats there all the time - (like I do) to post their positive feed back and not let the negative review from one person - affect this upstanding establishment. I EAT AT GOLDMANS ALL THE TIME AND HAVE FOR YEARS. THUMBS UP.
