User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsnow here is some real local island food and people.cheaper than flying to get your conk too.at 2pm start on charcoal and a few hours later ribs and chicken.
it's not the fastest service(kinda like in the islands ) but there is really good authentic music to chill .still underground and not pretentious.my fave is the greens or the baked mac'n'cheez. steph
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsIf you've never been to The Shantel...GO!: The Bahamian-Soul Food cuisine is reminiscent of home cooking. I've literally eaten everything offered on the menu atleast once. By far, my favorites are the stewed turkey wings, peas and rice, steamed cabbage, macaroni and cheese, and the "Oh My God" potato salad. For desert, please try the sweet potato pie. It melts in your mouth! I generally order my food to-go. However, on most weekends, the steel and reggae bands offer great music while you wait.
