this review is just for the bakery - as i am yet to dine here. I do pick up pastries every now and again and just the memmory of them fills my mouth with water. i always go for what ever is coming fresh out of the oven...
I'm not sure if is bad luck but I have not been impressed with the food here, I've tried different cuban dishes and I always leave dissapointed, the service is always slow, in one ocassion the food came warm & the steaks weren't tender at all.
Is a pity that Latinamerica is gone, Versailles is not as good as they were (or Lila's for that matter)
Wow, quality .... sustained for so many years. Was really impressed with the new stand-alone building bakery. Pastries were so fresh and light! My favorite of all time is the simple pastel de queso (cheese pastry)....a classic cuban pastry...with danish-type light cheese filling...and light fluffy pastry with a lightly caramelized coating on top. Perfect for washing down with a cafe con leche (espresso with steamed milk) ! :)
With lunch or dinner, try the batidos....like the mango or mamey...with milk. These are fruit shakes with milk....only they are not like the artificial american kind that overload with corn syrup and other articial chemicals...this is fruit and milk baby !!
Worth popping in when in the neighbhorhood in the cuban section of miami/coral-gables!
