| About: | Aura Restaurant, an addition to Lincoln Road's array of restaurants was designed by Morris Lapidus of Fontainebleau Hilton fame. The appetizers are excellent. Entrees include pasta, seafood, and meat dishes. Desserts come in portions generous enough to share. There is a full bar. Despite a handsome bar and a bustling dining room accented by rich cherry wood, mirrors, and large, multicolored amoebas on the walls, patrons still prefer the al fresco dining outside. |

I ate at Aura Restaurant last night and it was wonderful. I had the best Lamb Shish Kabob I've ever had in my life. They gave us 2 free Mojitos and they even gave my dog a meatball. The food came promptly, the waiter Aziz was great, and what can I say about the host. It was Jay's friendliness that made us want to try the restaurant. He made the whole experience so much fun and he's extremely dog friendly. I'll repeat, the food was great and reasonable. We've eaten at many restaurants on Lincoln Road as we go there often and this was our best experience there yet.
Sincerely, Inda Solomon
Worst dining experience ever! My $14 drink tasted like pure olive juice. The bread at mold on it and was old and hard. They messed up both my order and my friends. I ordered my steak medium and it came out well done. I asked that it be sent back and said I didn't want to order anything else because we had a show to catch. The waitress annoyingly threw the dish in the garbage right by the table-making a point and then continued to come back to say that my first drink was no longer on the house because I didn't order a meal- Can you believe the nerve? I spoke with the manager who apologized and took the steak off the bill (BTW...our original waitress never returned to our table, not even to drop off the check), but when we got our bill they have added 17% gratuity. Bad business practice!! Terrible experience.
By far the worst meal I've ever had. Do not make the mistake of dining there.
I went to Aura after reading that they serve great paella and was terribly disappointed. The paella was mush with seafood thrown in it.. old seafood, which I had to spit out onto my napkin to keep from vomiting. We also ordered the hummus and pita as an appetizer and I'm telling you that the hummus had no taste to it whatsoever. I've bought better tasting hummus in my grocery store. The pita was not fresh either. My boyfriend ordered the linguini with lobster. The lobster was clearly old (what a surprise) and had about two bites worth of meat in it. The pasta wasn't good either.
The people outside are really good at luring unsuspecting customers in. Very friendly at first and very good at tricking you into believing that you're getting a great deal. I know I wasn't the only one disappointed with the food because a table by us sent back their food telling the waiter that it was terrible and inedible. The free drinks are tiny too. Spend your money elsewhere! Sibilla was pretty good and only a few stores down!
I can't stress enough how truly disgusting the food really was.
