You get what you pay for ......that's it !!! I lived in Southgate towers for 1 year and I saved some money in rent and cable , but the building is very old , the Air conditioning doesn't work , especially in 2 bedrooms unit, it is not safe , because the front doors are open and there is no security , you can hear everything from the apartment , the windows don't close , and if you take the chance to open a window , proably it won't close back , the guy who repairs them told us not to open them , because they are so old , that there are not replacement parts anymore . I am so happy that we are moving out , for few hundred bucks more we got an apt. in good condition , wooden floor , not that nasty carpet , central ac, more security , 2 parking spots , bicycle parking , and a clean pool with nice pool area . Perhaps some folks might like the building , I think 'cause they are used to live in poor conditions , or they are cheap people , but anyway if you consider southgate be very careful , it could be a year lease full of bad surprises ....

Southgate Towers is a great place to live! Cheapest highrise rent on the beach, and I believe you get more than you pay for. The maintenance crew is quick and efficient. They fixed the only 2 problems I've had in my apartment, a running toilet and water in my refridgerator, in a matter of 30 mins after I called. The staff is friendly and the grounds crew keeps everything looking really nice. I have never had a problem getting a chair around the pool or actually using the pool. I can always use the machines and weights I want at the gym. It is older construction, but that actually works in your favor because a lot of the the walls in the apartment are concrete, so you don't hear your neighbors at all. Walking distance from shopping and Flamingo Park. And best of all is the view... You cannot beat the view for the price. I would definitely recommend Southgate Towers to anyone!
