Frankie's Pizza

I lived in Miami from 1968-88. Frankie and his daughter were customer of ours for years. (Frankie pretty much owned that entire block on the south side of Bird Road.....the pizza biz was and remains very lucrative if you do it right!!) I didnt realize how great this pizza was until I had been away for a number of years and been subjected to chain pizza and then went back to Miami for a visit. Even at the VERY high price you have to pay for the pizza, it is still a bargain. I will tell you this. I went to Lombardi's in New York a couple of years ago. This place is supposed to be the original NYC pizza joint it's name is spoken in hushed, reverent tone. Well, Lombardi's, I hate to tell you this, but there have been improvements in the product since 1905 and Frankie's pizza is quite a bit better than yours! By the way, as best as I can tell from Wikipedia, , Frankie's square pizza is not the typical "Neopolitan" thin crust or "Sicilian" thick crust NYC pizza, but more like a type more commonly found out on Long Island that is called "grandma" pizza. And from what I hear, his daughter Roxanne can still be found in the store folding up boxes just like her dad used to. he even figured out how to do it with one hand afterhe had his stroke and never missed a beat. ;-)

Frankie's Pizza Is One Of The Best Pizza Joints In Miami,Crunchy Square Slices Of Pure Goodness.I've Been To Alot Of Pizza Places In Miami And New York And This One Hands Down Is One Of The Best Pizza In Town.Also When In Miami Try Mario The Baker Pizza That One Was'nt In The List.

This is the best pizza you will ever eat. As one person said... bar none. I've been eating it since I was a kid and I still haven't found anything that comes close. I don't know what the hell they put in it but is taste great. The crust itself is unbelievable and the tomato sauce is unreal. The place itself is a little whole in the wall sweat box but that just adds to the uniqueness of the product. I've been telling people it's the best pizza for 30 years and those that try it are rarely disappointed.
