Consistently good homestyle cuban. The soups are excellent (sometimes a bit salty). In particular the white bean soup is full of flavor and the chicken soup is full of large pieces of breast meat....this is good stuff. My wife and I have been here numerous times and by far the best thing on the menu is the Little Havana steak. This is a skirt steak with a chimichurri sauce to smother your meat. Quite delicious. Don't over-endulge as the desserts are to die for...particularly the tres leches and the coconut flan. If you're looking for some good cuban fare...you can't go wrong with this place.
We went to Little Havana last night for dinner. We arrived at 9PM and waited 15 minutes for a table. It took forever for the waiter to come to our table. We were hungry and I told him we were in a hurry. I had to ask him 3 times just to bring bread and water to the table. We ordered on soup of the day... the split pea soup, although it was delicious was not hot. The Cuban Tamal with mojo was so clod I sent it back. The second time wasn't much better. My partner order the fish and it was good. My main entree was the Chunked Pork. It was room temperature... I insisted on speaking to the manager.
He came to the table and I explained the importance of food being a MINIMUM of 145 degrees. He said he knew the health rules. I insisted that he pick up a chunk of my pork and feel it. He did so and a got a sick look on his face and apologized. By the time the reorder came my partner was done eating and the rest of my food... black beans with rice and plantains were cold.
We would never return to Little Havana. It is too crowded, over priced, cold food, BAD SErVICE and a bad value.
I am calling the Board of Health today before they get someone very sick serving food below safe temps.
This place ROCKS!!! Awesome Cuban food at reasonable prices!
