    Crown Wine & Spirits: Without exception, this is the best wine shop in Miami. OK. That's a little over-the-top. It's not the best. But it is one of the best, when you consider the limitations.
    Crown is a chain. Therefore, this store gets only so many good wines. They get more than their fair share of good wines.
    Here, in my view, is the reason why: They have an excellent staff.
    Fred Barger, a former journalist, has been working at the store for some years now. He has an excellent eye for picking wines and is great with customer service. One of the wine clerks helped me pick out a $35 bottle of bordeaux that was the very best bottle of bordeaux I have ever tasted. And, yes, I have splurged on bordeaux -- spending three times that much for a bottle.
    So, if you are in town and need a bottle of wine, go here. It's worth the drive.
