While in South Florida, we wanted to find an original menu to try. Since we were headed to the Caribbean on our cruise we decided we should try some Caribbean food.

So the hotel suggested Bimini Boatyard, just over the bridge from Pier 66 and close to the beach. We went, the room was just fabulous. The food was prepared in a "Caribb-ican" manner the server told us.

We had to start with the Bimini bread they told us. They were right. It was a great experience. The menu looked abundant with seafood selections. The variety was something we weren't expecting. The dishes we tried the the pealla and the surf and turf. Thesteak was something we haven't tried before, but loved it.The Churrasco steak was very tasty and the sauce, wow!

The dishes were so big, we had to ask to take-homes. We were asked about dessert, how could you even think about that after a meal like this. Too much is all I could think.

Great overall, go for the view stay for the food!

We were visiting Fort Lauderdale and were told to try Bimini Boatyard by relatives.
    It was great!

The menu was Seafood with a Caribbean Slant. All the dishes we tried; the Grouper and the Mahi Mahi were suggest by our server. The one that was over the top was the escolar, a white tuna. I never knew of such a thing. The fish was extremely tasty and fresh. The combination of spices were great and the salad on the mahi dish was a great side for the Antillean Mahi.

The grouper was wood grilled and then topped with mango and coconut. The rice underneath, I would have ordered just by itself. A paella style rice but more like a risotto. Great flavor of saffron. Something to write home about for sure!

If you get the chance to visit Fort Lauderdale, try this place.

The waterfront view is great and the patio terrace very large. It was a little hot for the time we were there. Maybe they need some fans or something outside to cool it off a little.

On another business trip to FLL and first time to Bimini.Thought the food was a little overpriced for portion size. My fish portion was 3" square for $19. Also no bread was served with the meal unless you wanted to pay extra for it. No green garden salad was available only a Cesear for $$. Food was serve warm, not hot. Will consider going back but not for some time.
