The Service is Great: I have eaten at City Celler 8 or 9 times and have loved everything. I like the Lamb Shank and Sea Bass. The service is always been great. The hostesses could smile more. But I have yet to be dissapointed by them.
Good, if inconsistent: In general the food at CC is good, but you can find a surprising difference in quality in the same dish from visit to visit. Lunches are good, and week-nights or early on the week-ends seem to be the times that co-incide with the best food quality. I've had a scallop and gnocchi dish there that is savory and balanced on one night, and one the next visit the gnocchi are gummy and the scallops tough. Service quality varies greatly too. The wine list is broad and there are values there, but I'm disappointed when I see the wine that arrives at the table is a different vintage than what appears on the list, or when rose wines are inexplicably grouped with whites.
Awful service, refuse to go back: I work right down the street from city cellars in Coral Gables and I think the food is very good but I refuse to go back due to the awful service my friends and I have experienced. We waited ten minutes for someone to take our drink order, and another thirty five minutes to take our lunch order. We ended up having to leave without lunch. To top it off, our waiter had the nerve to blame the hostess and the hostess blamed the waiter. We left hungry and annoyed. Thanks for nothing.
