My two sons have been at the Learning Center preschool for over a year now. I think the Director, Ms. Cece, and the Assistant Director, Ms. Beverly, are doing a wonderful job. They have ensured that all of the teachers have the appropriate background and credentials and provide both a nurturing and productive environment for the children. The school is kept very clean considering the amount of children that attend. There are many events that occur which are above and beyond the normal preschool experience - water slides during summer, fall festival with petting zoo and hayrides, holiday plays, movie Fridays with popcorn, visits from storytellers, karate teachers, etc. There is a hot lunch option which is very beneficial. The preschool hours are convenient for working parents and even during the winter break the school is open for business (for an additional fee). The playground is modern (astroturf instead of mulch) and the playground equipment is safe. The owner of the preschool is often onsite and very involved in the activities. My sons have learned a lot and enjoy reading and doing homework. I would highly recommend this preschool to anyone considering it.
After the the change in directors the school has gone down hill... All she cares about is herself and not about the children nor the teacher in the school.
She let go all of the good teachers and all she cares about is a piece of paper and not wether the teachers are nutring and caring. The director her self has not been faithful to the parents and not been telling the truth on what has gone on in the school.
I would like honesty, caring and knowing my children are being watched when I drop them off.
We stuck with this school through a lot of recent change. Most has been for the better -- the school is bringing itself up to credential standards. My child was in the 2s and 3s classes and did well. The only thing to complain about is the high teacher turnover, part of which is due to the credentialing process. The owner has been open and honest about the transition. One new feature is a parent-teacher meeting to discuss the child's progress--a great improvement over the past. The school now also offers (for additional fees) hot lunches and sports enrichment programs. I picked the school because it's not a drop-off-in-the-driveway place--parents can come in to the classroom to pick up and drop off, and talk with the teachers (and have kids show them the environment). It has been just what I wanted, and wouldn't trade that part of it. Also chose it for lots of art projects; bright, colorful rooms, and nice playground areas with good equipment (+astroturf - nice look/feel of grass without the dirt and mess). Teacher-student ratios are not great, but workable. So far, so good at TLC.

I just enrolled my 2 yr old into TLC. Are your feelings still the same about the school? I agree with the teacher-student ratios not being so great from what I saw, but overall, I had a good feeling about the school.
