My son has mild autism and even though Glades Day is not a school for children with special needs the teachers work well with him. He has progressed so much and learned so much from his teachers. Just wish it was a Christian school. They say it's a "spiritual" school, but either your Christian or your not in my opinion.

I attended Glades Day School back in 1975. I believe it was Christian Day School at the time, but no matter. Let me tell you about my experience at this school. There was a teacher employed there during my fourth grade year who molested me for almost the entire school year. He paddled me almost daily in a room across the hall, and back then, witnesses were required when a student was paddled. So on one particular day, I was going to get a paddling for something I didn't do, (there was always some lie being told to the witness) and I begged Mrs. Crane not to leave me with him. However, she turned on her heels and walked out. I called the school a few years ago as I have learned there were several other students that were harmed by this man, and a pastor returned my call and told me not to worry about it. To forgive. To let the past be the past. Well, I have grown up, raised two children who are the love of my life, and have had an okay life. Yet, the scars of what happened to me at that school while my parents were working long hours to pay for it, (all the while I'm being told my parents will go to hell because they aren't attending the church) are with me to this day. I don't wear dresses, (not even to church-CATHOLIC)nightmares are still part of my life, I'm totally overprotective of my own children, and the dear sweet pastor who told me to forgive and let it be in my past? Well I hope to GOD in heaven none of his children have to carry the scars of being a ten year old child terrified each day about what is going to happen to them when they ender GDS. Yeah, just wanted to give the school a review, and tell all parents to make sure every teacher has been checked out, background checks have been done, and look at every teacher, faculty, staff credential. I love GOD with all my heart, but not because of GDS. No that kind of soured it for me. I love GOD because I did survive in spite of the school who refused to address the issue, or even ask a little girl why she didn't want to be left alone with a teacher.

I attended Glades Day School also. It was never known as Christian Day School. Those were two different schools!! I am sorry it happened to you. That per that hurt you, he or she will be judged !! Good for you to get on with your life.
I'm really sorry to hear that this happened to you. Unfortunately, you have evil people in the world that do these awful things and there is no excuse for please to harm children. Please don't take this the wrong way but I don't think your over it and should get some Christian counseling. The reason why I say I don't think your over it is because if this happened to you so many years and you searched Glades Day School to give them a bad review for something that happened to you over 30 years ago it implements your not over it. Also, Christian Day School was never apart of Glades Day school they were totally separate schools. Once again I'm so sorry you had this happen to you.
