An early Japanese farming settlement in Palm Beach County inspired this breathtaking attraction, which presents a Bonsai exhibit on the museum's Yamato Island. Visitors are invited to take part in the Fibbers Forum, an interactive exhibit based on a Japanese quiz show and to view art and artifacts in the display, The Yamato Colony: Pioneering Japanese in Florida. The oriental gardens evoke an air of tranquility that keeps the locals coming back to this relaxing, fascinating bit of Asian culture.
What a beautiful place, very serene and the restaurant is great....we took 8 people there for lunch and everyone was so amazed...definately recommend if you are tired of all the hustle and bustle of the every day routine.
This place is beautiful. The admission price is, I believe, $10 per adult. This is not a traditional museum, so don't expect to walk through a huge building and look at the artifacts and paintings, etc. Well, there ARE those things, but that's not what makes Morikami Morikami. It's the gorgeous OUTDOOR museum. You walk a trail about a mile long and follow the history of Japanese gardens through time. It's really fantastic. I would recommend it to just about anyone. :) Be careful, though, it is hot is south Florida, and you will be outside for around an hour walking the path.
Morikami: $8 Admission, small exhibit space and tea house with very pretty landscaped gardens. Only takes about an hour to walk the grounds but still worth it. Definitely an oasis in crazy South Florida.
