User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsLandmark in the City: I am originally from Pahokee, and I must say that growing up there was quite and adventure...Baines Superette (Buddy White's) it what we called it...was one of only a few black stores in the city. Mr. Buddy and Ms. Lucy were more than the owners they were your parents, the town has not experienced any growth in the past 30 years but on the corner...you still can see Buddy White's...where you can get anything from a .25 juice to a relaxer for your hair...and through Mr. Buddy has passed away..you still can find Ms. Buddy White, Ms. Lucy, or Mama behind the counter at 82 years old ! (and she still don't play)

If anyone at all has a picture of this place-PLEASE download. My sister & I have memories of a little store in Pahokee from over 50 years ago. Lady sat out on porch. Thay had candy cigs that had fake smoke Really!!!! Thanks Nena
