User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsMy family and I go to Dragon City frequently. It is some of the best Chinese food in all of Tampa and absolutely DELICIOUS! The food is always fresh and they are more than willing to adjust spices or prepare dishes without certain items (incl. pork), which is very helpful for people with allergies. We have tried nearly everything on the menu and the only thing we didn't like is a dish we have NEVER liked. We just thought to try it there since we liked EVERYTHING else. They also do NOT use MSG. We have a family member who is allergic to this also - and if you think that just because someone says they don't cook with MSG means they don't ... you better think again! We have gone to a few Chinese restaurants that make this claim and the reaction is unmistakeable. We have NEVER had a problem at Dragon City. It is not fancy, but you can dine in or take out; and the take out service is very fast. Lunches are still a bit under $5 per person and you will be lucky if you don't have left-overs. We typically get 4 meals for 5 to 6 people and almost always have extra.
The family that owns the restaurant does all the cooking making the quality extremely consistent. If you want your food hot and made fresh for you it is definitely worth the trip!-

Disappointing ! A lot of Chinese Restaurants in this area advertise N.Y. style as though it was as good as the Chinese food you get in New York .DONT BELIEVE IT !!!!

obviously this person doesn't know that we dont live in New York. So to expect something that they have already deemed as good in your own mind and try food from a different place only to compare it is just ignorant. I for one dont care how new york chinese people cook, cuz its probably swimming in grease anyways. Dragon City is pretty decent and great for small meals!
