This is by far my favorite bar in South Florida!! I love the beers they have on draft and the food is great too. Watch out for the ghost though! ;)
Not bad for Friday: Visited the Blue Anchor on a Friday night when my folks were visiting from out of town. The service was good and although we had to wait 15 minutes for the food the Shepherd's Pie, Bangers & Mash and the Fish & Chips were very good. The menu price was very affordable and most main courses averaged around $10. We enjoyed the atmosphere for it was busy but not packed with people (we left around 10pm) The drinks came quickly and the Guiness pour was done correctly with a one inch head. We also had a round of the Glenlivet 12 yr scotch (neat) and this was a fair value as well. Overall we enjoyed our outing and I plan to return to sample the live music on the weekends.
Will never go there again!!!: Just last week, I went to the Blue Anchor and it was horrible. Even though it was the evening I could see the dust hanging on the fans. The waitress we had did a good job taking our order, I just wish the cooks could of made it right. The fish and chips tasted very bad, it was if they did not change their fryers for weeks and to make things worse the peas were cold and it took twenty minutes,(after drinks were served) and it was not that busy, which does not surprise me, because the food is so bad. The waitress was nice and seemed frustrated as well not at me, but at the situation. The Blue Anchor may of been around for ten years, but I doubt it will be here for eleven if they keep up with the lousy food and unclean restaurant. I will never go there again, and I would not recommend the place to Asama bin Laden, much less my friend...
