A nice collection of greek art, but every museum has greek art. Contemporary art is non existant. With so many working artists in the area, none are shown at this museum? I have talked to several locals and they all said that they dont show in this area, but send out to places like Miami. Thats too bad. I have lived in Tampa for a decade and really miss the arts. If any local artists read this, please respond and list any local venues that are good for contemporary art. Thanks.
I expected more: The Tampa Museum of Art has a nice classics section, but where are the paintings? Maybe they are in storage... I enjoyed the Maurice Sendak special exhibition, but overall I expected more from a museum in Tampa.
