Seffner Elementary School

This used to be a tremendous school, but with the new principal Sharon Whitworth the school has steadily declined. Morning Drop off is a nightmare allowing only 1 car to unload at a time has turned a 5 minute process into a 15 minute ordeal. School starts at 8 but the teachers and patrols leave the drop off area (where students and cars are in close proximity unsupervised)the teachers however, do wait around the corner where the gate is to forbid passage to anyone arriving at 7:55 am making them instead go through the office which guarantees the student's tardy. I can't figure out what the priority is anymore it is not student safety and it is not providing a less stressful transition from home to the school day.
There is one bright spot at Seffner and her name is Lisa Lewis. The best teacher I have had the pleasure to deal with as a parent or student. She teaches 3rd grade so if there is no chance for your son/daughter to have her I would try other alternatives.
