Steak 'n Shake

For a time this place was my mecca. I remember many a time sitting in a booth when only the few overnight servers and a few skeezy truckers were left, fearlessly throwing back sport pepper after sport pepper in fierce competition with a co-worker. I won 22 - 5. A testament to my fortidude and a grim reminder that I'm sometimes not very observant.

Anyway, Steak n Shake restaurants are all great. This one is quicker than most and not quite as busy as the two Brandon locations. The service isn't quite as memorable as those though. All in all a good place to stop. I wouldn't trust anything eastbound on S.R. 60 past this place until I hit the Lake Wales McDonalds. Food at any of those places might just digest you.

Excellent every time: This is a consistent dining experience for my family, and a good one. The price is great. They have the best sweet tea around. Although it's not the healthiest food, it sure tastes great. Unbelievable milkshakes!

Joe made the differance on our return. A+: After terrible service at a new Steak n Shake in Brandon on Bloomingdale Ave, This was our attempt to give them another try. Joe was a little nervous at first when the 6 of us walked in. But we told him straight up about the bad service and that we were deciding weather or not to keep coming back. Well JOE MADE THE DIFFEREANCE. He was on time. Meals were hot and correct. Drinks were filled when needed. He checked on us at the correct times but did not go overboard with suffocating us. He did such a good job we left the biggest tip we have left in a LONG TIME. We even got the manager to tell him and I went and told Joe thanks and that we left a tip on our credit card so he knew who left it for him. I really liked the service and in this case the person probably at or near the bottom of the rank list and probably near the bottom of the pay chart was the biggest part of this great review from the 6 of us. Thank you Joe from the 6 of us…
