Alluring Mediterranean architecture beckons here, but dedicated shoppers are far more tempted by the presence of Saks Fifth Avenue, the only full-line Saks in the region. Plus four other department stores, and 100 specialty shops, including Banana Republic and Gap. A food court feeds you, and there's covered parking in case it rains. |

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI grew up in Tampa, and it's been over 20 years since I've visited my old home town. I remember Westshore Plaza as the premier shopping mall in town, one of the first all indoor malls in Tampa as the old strip malls, like Brittany Plaza, began to fade.
Yet as new as Westshore Plaza was, the Walgreen's Drugstore at the mall still included a food grill, where the lunch special for the day might be Salisbury Steak with mashed potatoes and green beens. Or, you could get a burger and fries with a milkshake, in the tradition of the all American diner.
While I miss those old lunch counters at the local drugstores, it's nice to see that Westshore Plaza has endured and evolved with the times. The retail outlets I see listed as tenants are all contemporary names, convincing me that Westshore Plaza is just as relevant in Tampa today as it was when I was still a resident of the local community.
