I've dined at Bern's approximately 20 times in the last 3 years, and have yet to experience a "dry or overcooked tasteless steak". I would love to visit some of the places that these people are suggesting are so much better. In my opinion, It's ultimately the food that sticks in my mind as to why I return to a restaurant, not the lighting or lobby furnishings. The only other place that I use as a comparison when dining is the Aberdeen Barn in Charlottesville Virginia. I'm just saying.

I was just reading through some additional reviews, and it's with little suprise that the majority of the negative reviews of this establishment are riddled with spelling errors.

Maybe you should try some of the other locations in Tampa so you can compare, maybe your stuck in a rut and don't realize it. If you only visit the same place over and over you will never know. Go to the Capital Grille and then compare. You will then understand what a $200 dinner for two should be. NO comparison to Bern's

I understand that it doesn't smell like mold and your feet don't stick to the carpet, but you may like it.

I've been to the Capital Grill. The food is decent, and would not command the premium prices were it not on International Drive. The $400 spent at the Capital Grill could be well spent elsewhere such as Roy's.

    NO STARS FOR THIS EXPERIENCE!!!

ONLY ONE BECAUSE I HAD TO, TO WRITE THIS REVIEW.

My husband and I went to Bern's for his Birthday in the beginning of September. We live on the east coast of Florida. Up till now, Bern's
was our favorite restaurant experience. We have been going there every year for 16 years. All good experiences. We will not be going there at anytime in the future. We ordered champaine to celebrate the occassion. The first bottle was flat, so the waitress sent over the room manager, he said we won't charge you for this one, let me pick one, this one was also flat, then he said we'll send you another one, the third one was also flat, three strikes and your out, we gave up and ordered two glasses of wine. My husband drank some of it even though it was flat, because no matter how much we complained and they saw that it was flat in the glass, they would not admit it or take it away or change it. l couldn't drink it, but we were charged over $100 for the flat champaine and they ended up making more money because they kept bringing replacements, that we were charged for. After that, the meal was really not that special or enjoyable. Then we go up to the dessert room upstairs, the waiter took at least 20 minutes to take our order, then another 40 minutes after he took it, then my husband and I got up to leave, and the waiter was near, so I said how long is this dessert going to take he said about another 10 minutes, now we are up to 50 minutes, he didn't show up with the desserts after ten minutes more than he said, making the total waiting time an hour, by then we gave up and left. We just wanted to have a nice dessert after the experience downstairs, didn't happen!!! Bern's Steak House was a very disappointing experience. I'm not in a hurry to go back there ever!!!
