Royal Bowling Lanes

I will never return to this establishment, the lady hostess was rude, and the snack bar was way overpriced for what you get. $3.00 for (10) Fried mushrooms with hair in it. Then when they do a second order for you it is undercooked and they bring it to you with an attitude.

Went on 10/16/07 -- Was amazed that they actually put money into the business. All new scoring system and floor too. Several areas still need improvement, most specifically their parking lot and snack bar area.

We were there during a league night, after 9pm we arrived and their were plenty of lanes open.

Person behind the counter was friendly and helpful. Being originally from NY, I still think it's odd that there are only 24 lanes. I'm used to alleys with 36-40 lanes !!

Don't go unless you have to!: Last night a group of 12 of us went bowling in this bowling lane. My family had gone there 2 years ago and thought it was okay for a non-smoking facility. However, last night was a total mistake to pick that lane.
We got their around 9 pm and tried to get 2 lanes together. One of my friends told me that the attendant told him that they could have 2 lanes together even though there were available last time. I couldn’t believe that, so I asked the attendant.
The attendant’s attitude was cold, indifferent and in-patient. Man…it scared me to ask more questions. Finally, I requested for 2 lanes together and we would pay individually.
After 10 minutes of trying to set the bumper for my kids because the attendant was reluctant to help at first. We finally start the game. However, there were not enough balls around or may be they were in other lanes.
By the way, the place was not comfortable because it’s under going some sort of remodeling and it’s dusty. The place was stunk with greasy smell also.
We played our game as usual despite of all these but it stopped at the set 8. We went and asked the attendant and 8-10 mins later, he told us that we only paid for 5 games and we put 6 people in it. That was not correct! We had 11 people and all we paid for our games and how could that be. It was so confusing and he kept saying that computer was right and would not do anything for us. We had to stuck with no game result and go our money scammed. I insisted that he made a mistake and he argued back. I asked for the management and he said there was no manager and no number for that either. Finally, he told my other friends that the other lane would have 2 more games left after the current round. And there was no more time for that either! Couldn’t he put those game credit to our lane if he made a mistake putting it in the first place.
The attendant didn’t value the customers at all. During the game, I observed other customers complaining about the attendant taking their bowling ball and he was no where to be found sometimes when customers needed him. Even worse, there was a lady through a shoe at him because she said that he cheated her money!
We wished that we went to AMF lane on 56th street instead.
