User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis place is not worth the money at all. First I purchased very expensive pre arrival tickets. The tickets were open ended to use during the body worlds exhibit. I arrived at 7 pm to see the exhibit with my friends. Imagine my dissatisfaction when i was advised i could not use the pre purchased tickets as they did not include body worlds "after dark". Mind you body worlds "after dark" was a cheaper ticket price. The MOSI staff were not helpful, and would not take the expensive tickets to see only the Body Worlds Exhibit. I was forced to purchase additional tickets or leave at that time.
I did purchase additional tickets.
I returned at another time to use the pre purchased expensive tickets. They included a "discount" for the gift shop. Imagine my suprise to find out the "discount" (again that has no specific printed exclusions) does not apply to any Body Worlds gifts. The tickets also included a ticket to the I-MAX at the MOSI. As well as entrance to other exhibits.
The place is falling apart. The exhibits are not good, not interesting. Body Worlds was in my opinion "just OK". I would never spend money on that exhibit again. The only reason I went twice was I still had tickets that were very expensive to use. Although I was given some type of coperate discount on the expensive tickets.
I would say the only thing worth any time or money is the I-MAX at the MOSI. If they play any movies that I find interesting I would revisit this theater. It is the only experience at the MOSI that is worth any time or money. Please be very careful when planning outings, or tourism in the Tampa area, and stay away from MOSI.
Short answer, very expensive, no value for the money and time spent.
User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsOverpriced Dump: This place is a rip off and the discounts for students and seniors are miniscule. Half the exhibits are boring and the other half don't work. The planetarium is outdated. The whole place just looks dirty, its a real dump especially for the prices they charge. Don't waste your money, if you want to go to a nice museum go to the Museum of Science in Boston or the National Air & Space Museum in Washington DC. This place is a disgrace, don't waste your time.

The children learned alot: The hands on was a really good learning experience and the displays very thought out. I was disappointed that some of the experiments were broken, and so took away from the overall experience. Staff was non existant. I would go back, but if you go you should bring someone with some knowledge of science for any questions the children have.

mosi is pretty cool. You should judge for yourself instead of just reading yahoo reviews. Plus it's not that expensive considering the rest of the area's attractions. mikey
