We just ate there Saturday night, and it was anything but French. The woman who obviously owns the place and seems French was actually curt and not very warm and friendly. Our server, Richard, was excellent and went out of his way and was a pleasure. My filet mignon was one of the worst I've eaten and the sauce that went with it was not very good. In fact I couldn't wait to get back to the hotel room and brush my teeth. The vegetables (Italian squash and potatoes au grautin) were very good, but at those prices I would've have perferred a good steak also. I will never go back there or recommend it. It was very, very disappointing and not good French food at all.

Oh, forgot to mention the wine - IT WAS HORRIBLE. The first glass I ordered for $18 was wickedly terrible and had to send it back. I ordered another one and managed to drink it but it was tasteless and boring. I know good red wines and they sure don't have it. Plus most of the staff was so pretentious it was like you wanted to tell them, you're not french so stop acting like an idiot and just be nice and treat your customers as people which they didn't. Overall horrible experience.

Excellent French Dining: This place is a winner in my book. If you are looking for that special night with romantic ambiance and great tasting well-prepared food, this is the place to go. Excellent service that caters to your every need, and the owner is often times available for a chat or wine offering. Speaking of wines, they have a very extensive fine wine collection, varying in price from $7 by the glass-to $300 a bottle. They offer every type of fine wine, and fine beers. Their quality of food is unsurpased in the Tampa Bay area. Just don't expect to watch the calories, everything is prepared classically french, with lots of butter, and tons of cream. Flavor is excellent. They offer many gourmet cheeses, and amazing souffles for dessert. Try it if you are up for an unforgetable evening, but you will pay for the quality.

THUMBS DOWN!!!: Lousy service and outrageous prices combined with a phony ambience. Go anywhere else, but not here. I had a fruit and cheese appetizer which consisted of 3 grapes, a tiny amount of cheese and a thinly cut piece of not even crispy french bread - cost 15 bucks!!! More like Shiteau France - the place stinks to high heaven as a prime ripoff to the gullible and easily fooled.
