I lived and worked in Osaka for two months in 2007. This restaurant reminds me of the mom & pop type restaurants in Namba.
Nothing fancy on the locale but the quality and variety of japanese dishes on the menu is noteworthy. The owners are from Osaka, wich is considered to be the culinary capital of Japan.
We have been searching for a decent japanese restaurant in the Tampa bay area for several months now and "FINALLY" found one after triying expensive and mediocre places.
By the way, their prices are cheap!
Give it a shot!

We absolutely love this place! Fresh ingredients, large portions and great prices! Spread the word because we want this place to stay around for a long time!

Excellent! Best sushi I've ever had! Generous portions, reasonable prices, friendly staff. My boyfriend and I have been back several times. Great little place!
They also have other Japanese dishes as well as sushi. One of these days I'll get to those, but right now I'm hooked on their sushi :)
A few favorites: Special Blue Crab, Hokkigai (excuse if misspelled) or red conch, and their Florida roll, which has blue crab and avocado. My boyfriend always gets the Sashimi Nami or Sashimi Jo...
And now they serve saki :)
oh, and PLEASE don't pay attention to 'heather's' review - she obviously doesn't know a good Japanese restaurant when she dines in one. My boyfriend is a chef and he loves this place; he knows what he's talking about!
and BTW, I've never had a problem with the service nor a problem understanding the waitress there.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
