I LOVE Ted Peters. I'm local and I don't get there as much as I should because I always forget it's there. But the other day I got a burger from a local place people like and decided, THAT is not a burger. Gotta get back to Ted Peters!
Ted Peters has always been a stop for us whenever we come into the St.Pete area. Have been coming for 45 years. I remember when oysters were 13 for a buck and you could get a beer for a buck too boot. Big juicy fat succulent oysters. And at John's Pass seafood you could buy oyster by the sack-full. Dem was da days my friend.
The Smoked Fish isn't "famous" without reason. It's fantastic, no matter what you get. For those poor souls who dislike smoked fish, they have some of the best burgers in town. NO French Fries -- instead they serve a warm German Style Potato Salad. It's not so tasty with the burgers, but excellent with the smoked fish! It could be a great place, but closes way too early, and some of the waitresses are simply downright rude. I mostly just pick-up some smoked fish from their take-out now, and enjoy it at home. Still, it's well worth the visit if you haven't been there!
