Here, they spice it up with poblano chile, salsa roja, and queso fresco. As an appetizer, try Shrimp Fundido, a combo of Gulf shrimp and sun-dried tomatoes, feta and Monterey Jack cheese, with crushed garlic and oregano tossed into the tasty mix. It's then baked until golden and served with flour tortillas. You'll also find specialty desserts here, all freshly made while you watch. |

Food is excellent. Creative and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely try the ceviche of the day. I've experienced it twice and it's great. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but no more. Used to be crowded but simple and good. Now it has free valet which is a pain for such a small parking lot. However, the main problem is that they take reservations but only for parties of 5 or more. We had 3 people and were denied reservations. We were told no one was waiting when we called so we left immediately and was there in 20 minutes. When we got there it seemed only 2 small groups were ahead of us and they said 15 minutes. Seemed reasonable. However, group after group (5-6 people size groups) came in and were seated. When someone else waiting asked about tables not being used they were told that the tables were being held for other groups with reservations. We gave up and left, never to return. If you do not have a reservation do not go - you will have no idea how long you will be waiting (and the hostess has no clue either).
We love Red Mesa. One of my favorites is the Chicken Fernandez. The chorizo fondue is so yummy! It's worth every calorie! We have always had an excellent meal here and the service is good too.
It's worth every penny for a nice evening out!
