We ordered our wedding cake for our Sept.wedding from this bakery. We provided a picture of our dream wedding cake and were told that the beach cake could be made according to the picture provided. We paid a good amt. for a 2 tiered cake but were willing to pay this amt. for our special cake. 1st mistake....NEVER pay in full esp. for you
out of towners. I called the owner/baker the day of the wedding and asked what time the cake would be delivered as the venue was wanting to know. The baker said the cake looked great and that I would be VERY pleased......I don't know what she was on. but our wedding cake was NOTHING like
what we ordered even down to the cake flavor for the bottom layer. She tried to pass off a last minute beach cake as what we ordered. We were very upset but could not do anything the evening of the reception as we had 45 guests. When confronting the baker/owner later that week all she had was excuses and stated we ordered THAT beach
cake. We ordered a cake with an umbrella and two chairs which we provided to the bakery. We were suppose to have 58 shells around the cake 27 were counted from the pictures we took. There was no pickets fencing, just flat toothpicks 3/4 the height
of the bottom layer pressed against the cake. You couldn't even tell what they were.No greenery along the so called picket fences, the bottom layer was to be raspberry swirl with raspberry filling. My friends and family would like to know where was the swirl. We got white cake with raspberry filling. When confronting the baker after our honeymoon before returning home...she was anything but apologetic. She stated she made the cake according to the picture. NOT at all. Yes it was a beach cake but not the one we ordered. The cake was made very amateurish and was missing a lot of the extras that we paid for. $225 for a two tiered cake with 27 eatable shells, not 58. NO umbrella. and the bottom
cake was the wrong cake. Flat toothpicks for the picket fencing and two adarondeck chairs which WE provided. VERY pricey. The crew at our reception knew I was upset and were nice enough to try and make a make shift umbrella to put between the chairs for the one that was not there.
We are very upset because we really thought this baker/owner was repritable as she came recommended to us. We would say.....AVOID this place esp. if you are from out of town. No apology just excuses and lies. We feel the cake was made last minute after I called that am. Therefore missing a lot of the actual order. All the owner/baker said was we ordered the cake that way. Why bother providing a picture because it was not followed in the least. We cannot ever get those pictures back on our wedding day for the cake that wasn't.
