When you put the words, "Aged Steaks" on the front of your establishment, I think you are looking for a patron who would apreciate a really good steak. I did not find that at Tucson's. I might have picked up a clue when the menue said the steak was to be seasoned with special "Adobe", but I asked the waitress not to do that to my order. Starting with a considerable wait between the order and the presentation, it all went downhill from that moment. The 7 oz Filet Mingeon was 1/2' thick and the cut reminded me of a breakfast steak at WH. I ordered medium rare, I cut into medium well, maybe well - I sent it back. The waitress offered me a house salad while I waited (no bread anywhere) and I greatfully accepted.
The Manager presented me a new steak quite quickly, and he was polite to wait my first cut, which revealed blood rare. Back to the kitchen with steak number two. The story ends with the third presentation, this time by the waitress, and I ate my diner. The Longhorn and Outback serve me what I expect, but Tucson's is not the place for a better steak. I think it's time to move the words "TexMex" or "Best Lunch Buffet" to the front of the sign.
This rest is the best combination steaks, seafood and southwest food and a great lunch buffet.
If you haven't been here lately...: You need to check it out. This is not the same restaurant I remember from a couple of years ago. The food is fresher, the decor is better. Best Tex Mex around...and then some.
