Molly's is definitely a local's favorite. Their food is typical Irish food/bar food... nothing to rave about, but it's yum over a couple of pints.
The big thing at Molly's is the atmosphere, the crowded bar, and the occasional Irish Live Music. There's not much to do at Lakeland, and most folks hit Molly's when all else fails.
The place doesn't open until 3 pm or later. The menu is very limited. When the food runs out, that's it. No food. Keep a close eye on your bill because my party and another party were drastically overcharged on our bills. We never noticed until we went home, and both our party and the other called each other up and questioned each other. We called the bar, and they weren't very helpful. They said we HAD to come down, which was inconvenient. Anyway, day after both parties who were overcharged went to the pub and presented their checks and listed what they had. The girl said the owner would call us. It's been a week already and NO ONE has called us or settled the dispute, so this leaves a very bad feeling about this pub.
Count me as a regular!: Great traditional Irish fare, a bit pricey, but the portions and flavor are well worth the expense. Guinness on tap, ALWAYS a plus! The bartenders strike up conversation with everyone, the waitresses are wonderfully attentive, the crowds during the week are laid back - on the weekends, the party begins, as it should be!
Smoking permitted. Drinks are well rounded and always chilled perfectly, from the on tap beer, ale and cider to the cold imports. Food hot and served up fast! VERY friendly and down-to-earth atmosphere.
If you want a bar to come "home" to, whether it is to eat, drnk or simply meet like-minded folks with a down-to-earth sense of fellowship, Molly's is the place!
