It should be known that the food at china Taste is great and nicely priced. But their customer service is horrible. 9 times out of 10, if you just call that phone number, you'll feel like they are rude and part of that is "i don't care" and another part is probably cultural barriers, but I've had way better service with other chinese/thai restaurants in Lakeland. --

The last time I dealt with them, their delivery driver refused to give me the 95 cents I was owed because she "doesn't carry changes." - Wh y on earth would a delivery driver NOT? The answer? - An excuse to steal money. When I called to speak to a "manager" I got some guy telling me she would be out shortly with the change. I waited an hour. No one showed. I called back and he laughed at me and asked me why I was so cheap. I am typically an excellent tipper, but the money for the food I paid for was paid with my co-worker's money. I had no authorization to tip. It was my physically disabled co-worker who I went to the lobby to retrieve the food for.

After a brief shouting match over the phone, (and mind you, I was pleasant with him up until he called me cheap) He said the driver would be there, yet again, and I informed him that if I had to come to the restaurant to pick up my dollar on principle, I would and he wouldn't like it.

No one came. So I decided to get even.

I called in another order. When she arrived to deliver it and no one showed up for the food... I confronted her and told her that her manager said she'd return with my money (mind you this was 2 hours later)

She tried to get out of it and looked me up and down as if she wanted to do something. I told her, If I had to go and get my money, I'd walk away with more than a dollar and it would come out of her paycheck. She then pretended that she didn't have change and proceeded to gather up random change (IN PENNIES!!!) from out of her rust bucket truck! This manly-woman literally handed me a handful of pennies. Would it have been so awful to save herself some time and just give me a dollar or even ask me if I had a nickel????

This restaurant gets a 1 star for their lack of customer service. They get a 3 star for their food. It's not that spectacular, but it is satisfying.

Also note that their customer service is ALWAYS horrible. But the above example of bad customer service stood out for me the most. When you call them and simply ask questions, you can hear the frustration in the young girl's voice. I'm talking simple questions like, "What comes with the pu pu platter?"

Choose them as a last resort.

China Taste is one of a few places that I like to order chinese from I call-in the order and it is normally ready by time I get there (about 10 minutes). The food is always fresh and tastes good. I have only had one bad experience and it was an order mix-up.

My favorite off their menu is the moo shu chicken.

At China Taste the food i order every week taste fresh and always hot i love it that the food is made faster then at the Mcdonalds that is across the restaurant . It seems they stay busy constantly and also have delivery . I recommend China Taste .
