Had their spagetti and meatballs twice ... very delicious .... better than Olive Garden or Macaronis ... service was poor first time in .. but good second time around .. went back second time because food was great ... not because of the poor service the first time .... great salad and bread ...
Like to know where the " LOCALS" are from? Canadian Winter Locals? LOL! BEST NYC pizza around, and believe me we get around. The tomato pie is just that, true italian an thin crispy crust, just like you get a Foamiggia at the corner of Broadway and 52nd. UMMMM!! I put their pizza up with the best. Started going to TJ's when they where located in the "old" building. Never had overcooked pasta- always al dente. Sauces fresh and fresh basil filled. If you do not like something, then it should be explained to the server, a chance should be given to rectify rhe meal. "LOCAL" sounds more to me like a Canadian or disgruntaled employee. Recommended.
PS. If you eat your meal then complain- then it's your fault! TJ'owner is almost always on site and would be more than happy to rectify any problem you might have.- golow00
very disappointed with this place. wanted to enjoy it, being a local and all, but couldn't, here is why:
-no one greeted us despite being 6 employees at the bar at 6PM on a Tuesday night and no one else in the place.
-server mispronouncing Chianti ! and then after having been asked to name 3 favorites on the menu we were pointed out at least 12.
-the paper on the table was dirty, the tablecloth on the adjoining table was spattered with drips on the hangin edge, the overhead pinspots kept going on and off all throughout the dining room suggesting a short?, otherwise a nicely appointed dining room.
-Pasta fagiole soup was overcooked, "tossed salad" was iceberg not tossed.
-our pastas were nice with the "famous" Lasagne lacking real flavor
-our soup and salad was presenterd to us at the exact same time.?
and the entree brought before our other plates were gone making the server use the adjoining table as a bus station.
above average prices and incredibly cheap utensils and paper napkin roll-ups!!
WON'T be back
