User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat reminder of a bygone era: Don't be mistaken, this is not an alternative to a Holiday Inn or Hilton. It is a building built in 1916. Rooms are small. The plumbing & wiring are not hidden in the walls. The hallways creak as you pass. However, the front porch rocking chairs overlooking the lake remind you of times gone by and what it would have been like to travel to the middle of Florida among the swamp & orange groves eighty years ago. Personal service, public sitting areas, and the grand staircase are well worth the visit. The beds, chairs, and decor in the rooms could use to be updated, and the ceiling tiles detract from the historic feel, but overall the Kenilworth Lodge is a true Florida gem. Stay here for a truly unique experience.
