| About: | The Mucky Duck is a popular restaurant on Captiva Island, with an original name. The English pub is located right on the beach, so you can grab some food and drinks after a day in the sun. Start with duck fingers in raspberry sauce. For lunch, choose from a variety of sandwiches, or fish and chips. The dinner menu includes chicken and seafood entrees, for odd-numbered prices like USD17.87. Try a homemade walnut brownie for dessert. They serve beer and wine, and there's live entertainment outside. The restaurant is non-smoking. Only hrs modified. |

Still the best on Captiva! Beautiful view, ice cold beer, fresh seafood, and excellent service. Thanks Judy, I can't believe I fell for the ketchup trick after all these years. Wish the bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp were just painted with sauce like the original recipe, no need to cover them up. Great guitarist to help you unwind as you watch the sun set.
This place has good food but even better service. My server, Lori, gave excellent attention to my family's table even though the place was packed full. The Mucky Duck should certainly by visited if you find yourself in the Captiva area.
Great Dinner/Great Atmosphere: My family (me, husband & 9 month old son) dined here after a bad experience at The Bubble Room across the street. We had a wonderful dinner. We had Scallops (excellent!) and Steak (my husband approved). We also ordered a Peanut Chocolate Stack Cake to go (yummy!). The place was busy, but not over-crowded. There was a good mix of families and couples. The waitress was very nice and accomodating. I did see a lot of the tricks the other reviewer mentioned, but they didn't seem obnoxious and appeared to be well-received. We walked around outside afterwards and enjoyed the view of the Gulf and the outdoor music. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend. It was a bit expensive, though, just to keep in mind. I believe our bill was $80 all-told.
