    Great food.....steaks are awesome....never would have suspected. Better than most steakhouses. Drinks are a must at the bar where the bartender Tuesday thru Saturday is the best I've ever drank with. A must stop in Punta Gorda.

    The Village Oyster Bar has been around for a long time for a reason. The quality has for the most part been very good. Nice views of Charlotte Harbor and mostly very good service. The prices are reasonable and the quality of the food consistently good. It's location in Fisherman's Village can make for a nice evening. The fish dishes are all good, and there are decent meat choices for the non fish lovers. Do a little window shopping, see the sights and have a reasonably good dinner. I don't know that I would travel too far out of my way to dine here, but it's a good local restaurant.

    Feb.14,2009 my husband and I brought my mom and two friends visting from PA. The waitress served one of my friends prime rib instead of flounder.When my husband went to pay the bill, the cashier was in such a nervous state she first added up our bill incorrectly then she gave our credit card out to someone else.
